Privacy Policy

1. Who We Are

ActorCue is developed and published by Taylor Simmons ("we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how information is handled in connection with your use of the ActorCue iOS application ("App").

2. Information We Do Not Collect

We do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to:

• Your name, email address, or account information (no account is required).
• Your location data.
• Your microphone recordings.
• Your scene text, cue words, or script content.
• Imported audio files or PDFs.
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA) or tracking data.
• Crash logs transmitted to our servers.

ActorCue has no backend server. No personal data is transmitted to or stored by us.

3. Information Stored Locally on Your Device

All data created within ActorCue is stored exclusively on your device using Apple's local storage technologies. This includes:

• Scene lines and cue words you create.
• Imported audio files and PDFs.
• Audio lines recorded through the in-app microphone recorder.
• App preferences (such as dark mode).
• Locally cached subscription status for performance purposes.

This data never leaves your device unless you choose to share it. You may delete all data at any time via Settings > Reset All Data within the App or by deleting the App from your device.

4. Microphone Access

ActorCue requests access to your device’s microphone for two purposes: detecting cue words during active listening sessions, and recording audio lines directly within the App.

• The microphone is active only during an active listening session or when you initiate an in-app recording.
• Audio recorded through the in-app recorder is saved locally on your device only and is never transmitted to us or any third-party server.
• No audio is transmitted to any server controlled by us.
• Audio input during cue detection is processed in real time and is not saved by us.
• You are solely responsible for obtaining consent from any other individuals whose voice may be captured in recordings you make through the App.

You may revoke microphone permission at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Microphone. Revoking access will disable both cue word detection and in-app line recording.

5. Speech Recognition

ActorCue uses Apple’s SFSpeechRecognizer framework for speech recognition. Depending on your device and iOS version, processing may occur on-device and/or via Apple’s servers.

• Any speech processing is governed by Apple’s Privacy Policy.
• We do not receive, store, or access any data processed by Apple’s speech recognition services.

6. Subscriptions and Payments

ActorCue Pro subscriptions are processed entirely through Apple’s App Store using StoreKit. We do not collect, process, or store payment information. Apple handles billing and subscription management in accordance with its own privacy policies. We receive only confirmation of subscription status.

7. Third-Party Frameworks

ActorCue primarily uses Apple-provided frameworks, including:

• SwiftData — local data storage
• AVFoundation — audio playback and text-to-speech
• Speech (SFSpeechRecognizer) — speech recognition
• StoreKit — subscription processing
• PDFKit — PDF viewing

Aside from our privacy-focused analytics provider (see Section 8), we do not integrate third-party advertising SDKs, tracking tools, or external crash reporting services.

8. Analytics

We use a privacy-focused analytics service to understand how ActorCue is used and to improve features and performance.

This may include anonymous data such as:

• Feature usage (e.g. AutoScene, and other tools)
• Button taps and interactions
• Session activity

We do not collect or transmit:

• Script text or dialogue content
• Audio recordings or imported audio files
• Any personally identifiable information

Analytics data is not used for advertising and is not used to track users across apps or websites.

All analytics data is used solely to improve the app experience.

9. Children’s Privacy

ActorCue is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at support@actorcue.com.

10. Data Security

All App data is stored locally on your device. Security depends on your device’s built-in protections such as passcode, Face ID, Touch ID, and system encryption. We do not have remote access to your data.

11. Data Retention and Deletion

Your data remains on your device until you delete it. You may:

• Delete individual lines within the App.
• Clear scenes using in-app controls.
• Reset all App data via Settings > Reset All Data.
• Remove all data by deleting the App.

Because we do not collect or store data, we cannot delete data on your behalf.

12. Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updates will be posted at www.actorcue.com/privacypolicy.html. Continued use of the App after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
