Welcome to ActorCue ("the App," "we," "us," or "our"). By accessing or using ActorCue at actorcue.com, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Use. If you do not agree, please do not use the App.
1. About ActorCue
ActorCue is a web-based voice-activated line reader app designed for actors, creators, and performers. It allows users to create scenes, add cue-triggered lines (text-to-speech or audio), and rehearse hands-free. The App runs in any modern browser and can be installed to your home screen as a Progressive Web App (PWA).
2. Free and Pro Tiers
ActorCue offers two tiers of access:

Pro access is granted upon a one-time purchase and is tied to your account email. Pro status is non-transferable and non-refundable except as described in Section 10.
3. Accounts
To unlock Pro features, you must create an account using a valid email address. We use passwordless "magic link" authentication — we do not store passwords. By creating an account, you represent that you are at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the EU/UK).
4. Acceptable Use
You agree to use ActorCue only for lawful purposes. You may not:
- Use the App for any illegal activity or to infringe on any third party's rights
- Attempt to reverse-engineer, decompile, or tamper with the App's source code
- Upload audio content that you do not have the right to use
- Use automated tools to scrape or abuse the App
- Share or resell Pro access credentials
5. Intellectual Property
All content, design, code, and branding in ActorCue — including the name "ActorCue," the logo, and the application interface — are owned by or licensed to the developer. You may not reproduce or redistribute any part of the App without explicit written permission.
Content you create within the App (your scenes and lines) remains your property. We do not claim ownership of your content.
6. User-Uploaded Audio
You may upload audio recordings for use as lines. By uploading audio, you confirm that you own or have the right to use that recording. ActorCue stores uploaded audio locally in your browser and does not transmit it to our servers.
7. Microphone Access
ActorCue requires microphone access to detect cue words. We do not record, store, or transmit your voice or audio. All voice processing occurs locally on your device using the browser's built-in Web Speech API. You can revoke microphone access at any time through your browser settings.
8. Disclaimers
ActorCue is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.
We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that the App will be error-free. Voice recognition accuracy depends on your device, browser, and environment — we cannot guarantee specific recognition results.
9. Limitation of Liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, ActorCue and its developer shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising out of or related to your use of the App, even if we have been advised of the possibility of such damages.
10. Refund Policy
Pro purchases are generally non-refundable. However, if you experience a technical issue that prevents your Pro access from working correctly, contact us within 30 days of purchase at taylormakegames@gmail.com and we will work to resolve it or issue a refund at our discretion.
11. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the App after any changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms. We will update the "Last Updated" date above when changes are made.
12. Governing Law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States. Any disputes shall be resolved in the applicable courts of the United States.
